Self-Reliance, Inc. is a supported community living organization in West Burlington & Burlington, Iowa. We provide high-quality social services and direct support for individuals with severe mental health, physical &/or intellectual disabilities in a residential setting. Our goal is to provide hope and opportunities for our consumers and their families. We focus on our consumers' goals, and we help them achieve the things they want in life.
 

Self Reliance Inc. is comprised of community partners, and our community advisory board helps set organizational goals and steer the company. This board includes leaders with a broad diversity of personal and professional strengths employed in our local community.

Dr. Patrick Williams and attorney Mitchell Taylor founded Self Reliance Inc. in May of 2014. Both founders maintain a personal and professional commitment to increasing accessibility to direct mental healthcare services in Southeast Iowa. The founders hired Megan Williams as the Executive Director in August of 2016. Since then, Megan has led the organization to expand from 10 up to 24 consumers receiving services. She has driven an increase from 20 to 50 employees on payroll, and Self Reliance Inc. has become CARF accredited in Community Integration.
